WASHINGTON – Spectroscopy innovator Ometric Corporation announced
today the availability of SpectrInline Processware™ that has achieved real-time, in-line final
product testing at a rate of five tablets per second using patented Multivariate Optical
Computing™ (MOC™) technology.
Ometric Corporation’s SpectrInline Processware™ provides real-time, in-line control of
production processes and final product testing to the pharmaceutical industry. The
announcement was made from the twentieth International Forum on Process Analytical
Technology (IFPAC).
Final tests at the rate of five tablets per second have been performed using SpectrInline
Processware. At such speeds, SpectrInline™ provides for testing of up to 18,000 tablets per hour.
On a process line producing 100,000 tablets per hour, six SpectrInline systems can perform 100-
percent final product testing.
CEO Walter Alessandrini noted that the breakthrough results obtained highlight how Ometric’s
innovative technology can help the pharmaceutical industry minimize product recalls, reduce
waste caused by time lag, and save precious resources involved in current sample testing. And
because the testing process is non-destructive and non-invasive, it will protect personnel from
unnecessary exposure to product ingredients.
Ometric will provide live demonstrations of the real-time, in-line testing of tablets, blending of
powders and testing of liquids and powders at PITTCON® 2006 in Orlando, Fla., from March 13 to
16. The PITTCON® exposition will be held at the Orange County Convention Center. Ometric will
be in Booth # 5657.
