Managing General Partner
Adrian Wilson is a co-founder and Managing General Partner of Trelys. He has significant prior venture capital experience as the fund manager for Coastal Growth Partners, a South Carolina venture capital firm. A 1979 graduate of Davidson College, Mr. Wilson earned juris doctor (J.D.) and master of business administration (M.B.A.) degrees from the University of North Carolina. As an attorney, he spent more than five years in private practice working for the firm of Helms, Mulliss & Johnston in Charlotte, North Carolina, gaining experience in representing venture capital firms in their investment activities and their dealings with the U.S. Small Business Administration. He was also heavily involved in merger and acquisition, corporate governance, and ERISA matters. Thereafter, he spent eight years with Progress Energy (formerly Carolina Power & Light Company), a Fortune 500 investor-owned utility, in charge of securities and finance law and in field operation management.
Mr. Wilson is a co-founder and board member of the South Carolina Investor Network and a founding board member of both the Palmetto Biotechnology Alliance and EngenuitySC. He is a graduate of Leadership South Carolina and a past chairman of the North Carolina Young Lawyers Division.
