COLUMBIA, S.C. /PRNewswire/ — The Trelys Funds (http://www.trelys.com/), South Carolina's largest and most active early-stage venture capital firm, today announced the hiring of seasoned industry veteran Stephen Hall as its Chief Financial Officer.

Hall brings broad and deep executive leadership, stretching across financial, insurance and high technology firms, to Trelys. Following service as Chief Financial Officer, Hall served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Colonial Companies, and its principal subsidiary Colonial Life and Accident Insurance Company, until it was acquired by UNUM Corporation. At other points in his career, he has served as President and CEO at four high- growth technology companies and as a Captain in the United States Air Force.

Hall's expertise will further enhance Trelys' mission of providing the funding and business building expertise needed to turn industry-changing technologies into successful high-value companies, and delivering superior value to investors. “The Trelys Funds is delighted to welcome someone of Steve's caliber. He has also been awarded the Top Management Leadership Award for the State of South Carolina, and has lectured at the Harvard Business School.

Hall holds undergraduate, master's and doctorate degrees in business administration.
