President, BB&T of South Carolina

Michael has served as President of BB&T of South Carolina since January 2000. Prior to this, he held numerous executive level positions in the banking industry, most recently Executive Vice President of BB&T of North Carolina and Chairman and CEO of MainStreet Financial Corporation of Virginia. He also serves or has served on the boards of the South Carolina Bankers Association, the United Way of South Carolina, Junior Achievement, EdVenture, the Cultural Council of Richland/Lexington Counties, and the Lexington Medical Center Foundation. Michael holds a BA in Economics from Bowling Green State University.
